ABSTRACT
Assessment of acid sulfate soil risk is an important step for acid sulfate soil management and ita reliability depends very much on the suitability and accuracy of various analytical methods for estimating sulfide-derived potential acidity, actual acidity and acid-neutralizing capacity in acid sulfate soils. This paper critically reviews various analytical methods that are currently used for determination of the above parameters, as well as their implications for environmental risk assessment of acid sulfate soils.
Key Words:  acid risk assessment, acid sulfate soils, analytical methods
