Response of soil respiration to hydrothermal effects of gravel–sand mulch in arid regions of the Loess Plateau, China
2023, Soil and Tillage ResearchInfluence of straw mulch and no-tillage on soil respiration, its components and economic benefit in a Chinese wheat–maize cropping system
2022, Global Ecology and ConservationCitation Excerpt :In 2019, 6.4% of all greenhouse gases emissions were derived from agriculture (Ritchie and Roser, 2019), while total CO2 emissions from agriculture and related sectors accounted for a quarter of CO2 emissions from all economic activity (Tubiello, 2019). Although many agricultural practices have been assessed for their potential to reduce CO2 emissions by increasing the accumulation of carbon in plants and soils (Sanz-Cobena et al., 2021), the net effect of straw mulch (SM) and no-tillage (NT) on soil CO2 emissions remains unclear. Straw mulch is a common agricultural practice in China that aims to improve soil physical properties and nutrients.
