2023, Soil Biology and BiochemistryThe fate of fertilizer-derived phosphorus under different long-term fertilization regimes: A phosphate oxygen isotope study
2023, Science of the Total EnvironmentCitation Excerpt :The P cycling is an integrated reaction that includes physical, chemical, and biological factors (Cheng et al., 2020), and it is controlled by precipitation/dissolution, sorption/desorption, microbial immobilization/mineralization, organic matter dynamics, and plant uptake (Richardson and Simpson, 2011; Siegenthaler et al., 2020; Chen et al., 2021). Numerous methods can currently be applied to study P cycling, one of which, the sequential chemical extraction method developed by Hedley et al. (1982), has been implemented in various studies (Rodrigues et al., 2021; Yuan et al., 2021; Zhang et al., 2020). This approach divides soil P into different P pools, artificially defining their biological availability.
Dramatic shifts in fungal communities following application of hairy vetch (Vicia villosa Roth L.) in upland of Ultisol
2021, European Journal of Soil BiologyCitation Excerpt :Soil fungi prefer acidic environment [62], so the change of soil pH led to the shifts of fungal community composition following different agricultural regimes [63]. Soil phosphorus is also an important factor to influence fungal community structure [64]. We also found the asymmetric effects of different practices on soil phosphorus content and pH (Fig. S1), which might induce the divergence in soil fungal community composition.
