It is well known that biomass obtained from grass swards depends on a multitude of factors among which soil texture, top soil fertility, total rainfall, type of native or sown species, soil temperature all play a significant role (Belmonte et al., 2018; Steenwerth and Belina, 2008). Moreover, the use of a cover crop in the vineyard inter-row has shown to increase the C stock in the upper soil layers (Agnelli et al., 2014; Tezza et al., 2019).
